Is the glass being half full even a good thing?  

Think about it, if it is half way when you are filling a glass, up you use the word ‘full’. If the drink is decreasing, then you use the word ‘empty’.  With that in mind, half empty means you drank half of your glass, and you still have some left to drink. You had enough to fill your cup and.  If it is half full then you didn’t even have enough to fill up your cup.
